Terms of Service
Last updated: October 16, 2026
The short version
You're a grown-up who signs up and manages the account. We give you daily prompts and tools to track growth. You pay only if you choose Premium, and you can leave at any time.
1. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of the children on your account. By signing up you confirm you're allowed to create accounts and to give consent on behalf of your family.
- You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- You're responsible for reviewing the prompts and deciding what fits your family.
2. What this app is — and isn't
Brave, Bold, Kind is a conversation starter for character building. It is not therapy, counselling, medical or psychological care, and it is not an educational or diagnostic service. It doesn't assess or label a child.
Use your own judgment about what your boy engages with. If a child is in danger or serious distress, contact a qualified professional or emergency services right away — the app is not a substitute for that help.
3. Your account
- Keep your registration details accurate and your password private.
- Don't share your login with anyone outside your household.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Free and Premium
Free accounts include:
- One daily character prompt for each child.
- Streak tracking and a weekly pillar summary.
5. Premium plan
Premium adds, for each child:
- The full prompt library and the Grown Up & Me prompts.
- The superhero avatar pack.
- Weekly Hero Challenges and the badge collection.
- Journal history, favorites and progress reports.
6. Pricing and billing
For new subscriptions, Premium is billed in Canadian dollars: $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year. The annual plan is charged in one payment, not monthly installments. Payment is taken by Stripe when your subscription starts and again on each renewal until you cancel. Existing subscriptions continue at their agreed price unless you are notified of a change.
Prices may change. If they do, we'll tell you before your next renewal, and you can cancel rather than accept the new price.
Taxes, where applicable, are calculated and handled by Stripe on our behalf.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel any time from the Subscription page using the Manage subscription button, which opens Stripe's customer portal. Your Premium features stay available until the end of the period you've already paid for, then the account returns to Free.
Refund requests are reviewed case by case and handled in line with applicable consumer law.
8. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Copy, resell or redistribute the prompt library, challenges, badges or artwork.
- Reverse engineer, scrape or deliberately overload the service.
- Upload unlawful, harmful or abusive content, or other people's personal information.
- Use journal answers to store anything other than your family's own reflections.
- Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your relationship with us.
9. Who owns what
Your journal answers belong to you. You give us permission to store and display them to you so the app can work, and for nothing else.
Our prompts, challenges, badges, icons, copy and design are ours, licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use in your family.
10. Availability and changes
We regularly add prompts and challenges, and we can add, change or remove features as the app grows. We aim to keep the service running reliably but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond what consumer law won't let us exclude.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months, or $10 if you're on Free. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses.
13. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service, or has an unpaid subscription — and we'll tell you why where we reasonably can.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable there, and disputes are handled in Ontario courts where the law allows. Nothing here limits your own consumer rights where you live.
15. Changes to these terms
We'll update the date above when these terms change, and we'll notify you in the app or by email about meaningful changes. Using the service after a change means you accept it.
